The UFC 183 Preliminary Card on Fox Sports 1 took place this past Saturday and featured Miesha Tate weathering an early storm by Sara McMann to win by majority decision.
According to Nielsen sources, the UFC 183 preliminary overnight viewership number for the prelims landed at 1.546 million viewers and 925,000 of those viewers were in the Adult 18-49 demographic.
UFC 183 is the second most watched UFC PPV preliminary card since they began airing on the cable sports network in 2013, with the number one pay-per-view prelim being UFC 168 in late 2013 with 1.554 million viewers.
In terms of the peak of the broadcast, it came from 9:30 p.m ET – 9:45 p.m. ET with 1,992,000 viewers and this is the highest peak of a UFC pay-per-view on Fox Sports 1. Also, it also marks the second straight UFC pay-per-view preliminary card on Fox Sports 1 to have over 1 million viewers.
After the pay-per-view broadcast ended, the post fight show aired on Fox Sports 1 and came in with 318,000 viewers. This is the 2nd most watched post fight show in Fox Sports 1 history with the number one post fight show being UFC 182 at the beginning of January (459,000).
The event also did well on social media as it was the number one sports program in the Nielson Twitter TV Ratings on Saturday and finished as the number two sports program of the week with the number one sport going to the Super Bowl.
