Bobby Lashley will continue to be compete in the Bellator cage as the heavyweight fighter has signed a long-term contract extension with the California based promotion.
Bellator announced the contract extension in a press release on Friday.
“I’ve had two fights with Bellator, and I’m happy to be calling the promotion my home,” said Lashley. “Scott Coker and the company have really reignited my desire to fight and I’m looking forward to a huge year with some dominant wins.”
Lashley (12-2) signed with Bellator last year and has won both of his fights in the promotion. Following a win over Josh Burns in his promotional debut last September, he returned less than two months later and scored a submission victory over Karl Etherington.
He was scheduled to meet James Thompson at Bellator 134 last month, which was going to be a rematch of their 2012 bout in Super Fight League that Thompson won by unanimous decision. However, Lashley was forced to pull out of the event with an injury.
Lashley is expected to return to the Bellator cage this year and an exact date for his next fight has not been announced at this time.
