ONE Championship lightweight champion Shinya Aoki will make his next title defense at ONE Championship 28 in Singapore on May 22 as he is challenged by Koji Ando.
The fight booking was announced on Thursday by ONE Championship CEO Victor Cui.
Aoki (37-6, 1NC) has won seven in a row since losing to current UFC lightweight Eddie Alvarez at Bellator 66 in 2012. His most recent win came by twister submission in December against Yuki Yamamoto and his last three wins have come by submission in the first round.
Ando (11-3-2) will enter this fight on a five fight winning streak and he is coming off a TKO win at ONE Championship 22 against Zorobabel Moreira. During his current winning streak, four of the five wins have come by stoppage and two of those wins have come in the first round.
ONE Championship 28 will come from the Singapore Indoor Stadium and more fight bookings for this event will be announced shortly by the promotion.
