James Thompson out of next week’s Bellator 138, Dan Charles steps up to face Bobby Lashley

The rematch between James Thompson and Bobby has once against been scratched as Thompson is out of next week’s Bellator 138 with an undisclosed injury and stepping up on short notice to face Lashley is Dan Charles.

Bellator announced the fight change on Wednesday.

Bellator 138 will come from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri on June 19 and will be headlined by a heavyweight bout as Kimbo Slice returns to MMA to meet Ken Shamrock.

Charles (9-2) made his Bellator debut in 2013 and he has won back to back fights. His last fight came in October of last year as he defeated James Wilson at a Bellator event in Las Vegas. Lashley (12-2) has won five in a row since losing a decision to Thompson at Super Fight League 3 in 2012. He is 2-0 since coming to Bellator and both of those wins have come by stoppage.
