A welterweight bout has been added to the Bellator 140 preliminary card as Josh Neer will meet Matt Secor on the July 17 card coming from the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut.
Secor announced the fight booking on social media on Monday evening and a Bellator official confirmed the fight booking with The MMA Report on Tuesday.
Bellator 140 will come from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut on July 17 and will be headlined by a title fight as Douglas Lima defends the welterweight title against two-time tournament winner Andrey Koreshkov.
Neer (36-14-1) returned to Bellator last year and was defeated by Paul Bradley in the main event of Bellator 129 by decision. The defeat snapped a three fight winning streak and all of those victories came by stoppage. Secor (6-2) will be making his second appearance in the Bellator cage, as his previous Bellator fight came in 2012 when he lost a decision against Nordine Taleb. He will enter this fight with two straight victories and both of those wins came in the WSOF.
The current Bellator 140: Lima vs. Koreshkov fight card is below.
Douglas Lima (26-5) vs. Andrey Koreshkov (17-1)
Chris Honeycutt (6-0) vs. Paul Bradley (22-6, 1NC)
Michael Page (7-0) vs. Rudy Bears (16-13)
Brennan Ward (10-3) vs. Gavin Sterritt (6-1)
Paul Daley (36-13-2) vs. Dennis Olson (14-8)
Josh Neer (36-14-1) vs. Matt Secor (6-2)
