A middleweight bout has been booked for UFC Fight Night 73 on August 8 in Nashville, Tennessee as Ultimate Fighter alum Sam Alvey will meet Derek Brunson.
The fight booking was announced by the UFC on late Tuesday evening.
UFC Fight Night 73 will come from the Bridgestone Arena on August 8 and will be headlined by former title challenger Glover Teixeira meeting Ovince Saint Preux meeting in a battle of top ten UFC light heavyweights.
Alvey (26-6, 1NC) has won three in a row after losing to Tom Watson last year by unanimous decision. His most recent win came in May as he defeated Dan Kelly by TKO. Brunson (13-3) will enter this fight with victories in his last two fights and is 4-1 in his last five. He is coming off a TKO win against Ed Herman in January and it was his first TKO/KO win since 2011.
