Former Bellator middleweight champion Brandon Halsey will have his opportunity to regain the middleweight title in October and the California based fighter recently signed a new contract with Bellator.
The re-signing of Halsey was announced in a press release today by Bellator.
Halsey (9-0) was stripped of the Bellator title earlier this year when he missed weight for his title defense against Kendall Grove. He would end up stopping Grove in the fourth round at Bellator 137 and he will look to regain the Bellator 185 pound title when he faces Rafael Carvalho for the vacant title in the co-main event of Bellator 144.
Bellator 144 will take place on October 23 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut and will be headlined by a title fight rematch as Marcos Galvao defends the bantamweight title against former champion Eduardo Dantas.
