The big fight bookings continue to come from the UFC as The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale in December is expected to be headlined by a featherweight bout as Frankie Edgar meets Chad Mendes.
The fight booking was initially reported on Tuesday evening by Brazilian website Lancenet and several other media outlets are now reporting the fight as well. As of Wednesday morning, the UFC has not officially announced the fight.
The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale will come from Las Vegas, Nevada on December 11 and the venue for the fight card has not been announced at this time.
Edgar (19-4-1) has won four fights in a row since losing to current UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo at UFC 156 in 2013. His most recent win came in May at UFC Fight Night 66 as he defeated Urijah Faber by unanimous decision. Mendes (17-3) has dropped two of his last three fights and those defeats came in title fights against Aldo and current interim champion Conor McGregor. His last win came in April as he defeated Ricardo Lamas by TKO and five of his last six wins have come by TKO/KO.
