The co-main event of UFC on FOX 17 will be a heavyweight bout as former UFC champion Junior dos Santos will meet former Strikeforce champion Alistair Overeem.
The fight booking was announced by the UFC on Tuesday.
UFC on FOX 17 will come from the Amway Center on December 19 and will be headlined by a title fight as Rafael dos Anjos defends the lightweight title against Donald Cerrone.
Dos Santos (17-3) will enter this fight following a decision victory over Stipe Miocic at UFC on FOX 13 last year and this will be his first fight in nearly one year. He is 2-2 in his last four fights and both of those defeats came against Cain Velasquez. Overeem (39-14, 1NC) has won back to back fights after dropping three of four. His most recent win came in March as he defeated Roy Nelson by decision.
