The opening bout of the Bellator 143 main card was a heavyweight bout as Vinicius “Spartan” Queiroz stepped into the Bellator cage for the first time in nearly two years as he faced Bellator newcomer Ewerton Teixeira.
Queiroz (8-3) would end up scoring his second career win by submission as he defeated Teixeira (3-1) by arm-triangle choke submission and both of his submission wins have come in the Bellator cage.
“I’m very proud of the victory. I was calm and looking forward to the finish I look forward to fighting for the belt,” Queiroz said. “I was totally prepared going into this fight. I’ve never felt like this before and I was able to go into a fight without any pre-existing injuries.”
