Former bantamweight champion Eduardo Dantas was scheduled to challenge current Bellator bantamweight champion Marcos Galvao for the 135 pound title in two weeks at Bellator 144, but an injury has forced Dantas to pull out of the fight.
Multiple sources have confirmed to The MMA Report that Dantas is out of the fight and the promotion is seeking a new opponent for Galvao.
When it comes to potential replacements, the top options would appear to be former Bellator champion Joe Warren and Darrion Caldwell. Both fighters are coming off victories at Bellator 143 last month and sources have indicated to The MMA Report that both fighters are not currently under medical suspension.
Bellator 144 will come from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut on October 23.
