In the main event of Bellator 146 on Friday night in Oklahoma, Melvin Manhoef scored his 28th career win by TKO/KO as he defeated Hisaki Kato in the opening round.
The fight was expected to be a standup fight and that is exactly what the fight would be. Manhoef would drop Kato with a left hand and referee John McCarthy came in to stop the fight at the 3:43 mark of the opening round.
Manhoef (30-12-1) is now 2-1, 1NC in Bellator and both of his wins in Bellator have come by TKO/KO in the first round.
