Jonavin Webb needed a new opponent for next month’s UFC Fight Night 82 following Bryan Barberena being moved to next week’s UFC on FOX 18 and the UFC has turned to Ultimate Fighter 21 alum Nathan Coy to replace Barberena in the fight against Webb.
UFC officials announced the new fight booking on Saturday.
UFC Fight Night 82 will come from the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on February 21 and will be headlined by a welterweight bout as Donald Cerrone moves up to the 170 pound division to face Tim Means.
Coy (14-6) was a member of American Top Team during The Ultimate Fighter 21 and lost his official UFC debut last month when he was submitted by Danny Roberts. He will enter this fight with two straight defeats and will be looking for his first win since early 2014 when he won a decision against Paul Bradley in Bellator. Webb (8-1, 1NC) was signed by the UFC last year and lost his promotional debut against Kyle Noke by split decision. Before entering the UFC, he was a veteran of Cage Fury Fighting Championship as all of his previous fights came in that promotion.
