Titan FC 37 set for March 4 with 3 title fights

The first event of 2016 for Titan FC will take place on March 5 in Ridgefield, Washington and the event will feature title fights in the bantamweight, featherweight, and flyweight divisions.

The main event of the fight card will be a vacant bantamweight title fight as former champion Brett Johns looks to reclaim the 135 pound title when he meets Ricky Simon. The co-main event will see featherweight champion Andre Harrison being challenged by Steven Siler and the third title fight will see Tim Elliott defending the flyweight title against Pedro Nobre.

Along with the title fights, the fight card coming from the Clark County Event Center will also see a lightweight bout between former Titan FC champions as Pat Healy meets Desmond Green and former bantamweight title challenger Anthony Gutierrez will also be on the card.

“Titan FC is excited to kick off our 2016 schedule by returning to the Pacific Northwest,” said Titan FC COO Lex McMahon in a press release. “We wanted to start this year with an event that would show the great Titan FC fans that 2016 will be our best year yet. We are committed to giving our fans action packed cards showcasing the talented fighters on the Titan FC roster.”

Johns (12-0) won the Titan FC bantamweight title in March of last year against Walel Watson, but he would have to vacate the title at Titan FC 34 when he missed weight for his title defense against Gutierrez. He would end up defeating Gutierrez by decision at Titan FC 34 and this will be his first fight since being stripped of the title. Simon (7-0) won his Titan FC debut in September when he defeated Alex Soto by unanimous decision. Four of his seven wins have come by TKO and all of those wins came in the first round.

Harrison (11-0) is coming off a successful title defense against Green in September and his last four wins have come in Titan FC. All of his wins in Titan FC have come by decision and his last stoppage victory came in 2013 against Matias Vasquez at Ring of Combat 45. Siler (28-14) has won five in a row since losing to Desmond Green by decision at Titan FC 32. His most recent win came in November as he defeated Scott Thometz by decision at Front Street Fights 7.

Elliott (12-6-1) will be making his second Titan FC flyweight title defense at Titan FC 37 as he successfully defended the title in September against Felipe Efrain. He defeated Efrain by submission and it was his first submission win since 2012 when he defeated Josh Rave at RFA 2. Nobre (17-1-2, 1NC) is unbeaten in his last six fights and his last fight took place in 2014 at Titan FC 30. On that night, he defeated Nick Honstein by split decision and his last two victories have come by decision.
