Heavyweight Alistair Overeem and bantamweight Aljamain Sterling are returning to the UFC as both fighters announced on Monday that they have re-signed with the Las Vegas based promotion.
Overeem (40-14, 1NC) is currently on a three fight winning streak and is coming off a TKO victory at UFC on FOX 17 against former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos. Following his announcement of re-signing with the UFC, he announced on social media that he will be headlined the UFC Fight Night card slated for Rotterdam, Netherlands on May 8.
Sterling (12-0) announced his decision to re-sign with the UFC during Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour. His most recent win came in December against Johnny Eduardo at UFC Fight Night 80 and his next fight will likely be announced in the coming weeks.
The terms of the new contracts for Overeem and Sterling were not disclosed.
