A middleweight bout that was reported on Wednesday evening is now official as former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva will fight in his home country of Brazil on May 14 as he will meet Uriah Hall at UFC 198.
UFC officials confirmed the fight booking on Thursday.
UFC 198 will take place on May 14 at the Arena da Baixada in Curitiba, Parana, Brazil and will be headlined by a title fight as Fabricio Werdum defends the heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic.
Silva (33-7, 1NC) returned to the UFC last month and lost a decision against Michael Bisping in the main event of UFC Fight Night 84. He is winless in his last four fights and his last win came against Stephan Bonnar at UFC 153 in 2012. Hall (12-6) will also enter this fight following a defeat as he lost to Robert Whittaker at UFC 193 in November. He is 2-2 in his last four fights and has gone 5-4 since entering the promotion in 2013.
