Saturday’s Shamrock FC: Mayhem card in St. Louis, Missouri will see the return of Tyler Claussen as he will be facing Matt Helm in a welterweight bout on the fight card coming from the River City Casino.
Claussen (2-1) has been away from the cage since defeating Willie Rose by submission in October of 2014 and during Tuesday’s edition of “The MMA Report Podcast,” he talked about his time away from the cage and how this fight will determine if he remains at welterweight or if he will move down to the lightweight division.
“I did a pretty bad weight cut to make 155,” Claussen explained. “It just hurt my head, hurt my mind set and it did not hurt my body at all. It just my mind could not control my weight. I jumped up 20 pounds the next day and I really could not think straight or think right if I am going to be a 155’er or am I going to be a 170 pounder. This fight is going to determine if I am going to stay at 70 or if I am going to go back to 55 and see what happens there.”
