A heavyweight trilogy bout has been added to next month’s CES MMA 35 in Beverly, Massachusetts as Tyler King will meet Eric Bedard.
The fight booking was announced by CES MMA today.
CES MMA 35 will come from the North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly, Massachusetts on April 16 and will be headlined by a featherweight bout as Pedro Gonzalez meets Andres Jeudi.
King (9-4) defeated Bedard by knockout in their first meeting at a CES MMA show in 2012 and lost the rematch in 2014 by knockout. This will be his first fight since losing to Patrick Walsh in October and he will be looking to snap a two fight losing streak.
“It’s pretty highly anticipated. I’m hated. But I don’t care; I’ll play the heal. I don’t care. I do this because I (expletive) love it. Let’s go put on a show,” said King. “There’s nothing personal. Once the cage door closes, he’s going to try to take my head off, and I’m going to take his head off.”
Bedard (6-6) will also enter this fight with back to back defeats as his last win came against King. Since starting 3-0 in his pro career, he has gone 3-6 and all of his victories have come by stoppage.
“I don’t make anything personal,” said Bedard. “There was some trash-talking on his side going into the fight. Second fight was a matter of getting it back. I don’t make things personal. Tyler doesn’t want to stand with me. I’m going to hit him and he’s going to feel it.”
