Bellator 153 took place on Friday night at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut and was headlined by Andrey Koreshkov retaining the Bellator welterweight title with a decision victory over former WEC and UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson

Along with Koreshkov retaining the Bellator welterweight title in the main event, the co-main event saw former Bellator featherweight champion Patricio “Pitbull” Freire scored his ninth career win by submission as he used a guillotine choke to defeat Henry Corrales.

    Brennan Ward can’t say Bellator hasn’t tried to push him. It’s just that he keeps letting them down. Every time he has been matched up against a competent opponent, he has been finished quickly. Fortunately, he is young, so he can recover from this latest loss.
