During his time away from competition, Evangelista Santos explains why he decided to study psychology and philosophy

Tonight’s Bellator 153 main card on Spike will feature the promotional debut of Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos as he will meet fan favorite Brennan Ward in a welterweight bout.

Santos (20-16) signed an exclusive, multi-fight deal with Bellator earlier this year and he enters this fight following a decision win at Legacy FC 50 in January against Artenas Young. The fight against Young was his first MMA fight in nearly two years and during his time away from competition, he decided to study psychology and philosophy. In a conversation with The MMA Report, Santos explained why he decision to study these subjects.

“He believes that those two can help him to have better fighters for his students,” Santos said through a translator. “Also, so he can become a better person as well. People can see that a fight can be violent but it’s something else. More than that.”
