The UFC lightweight title will be on the line two nights before UFC 200 as Rafael dos Anjos will defend the 155 pound title against Eddie Alvarez in the main event of UFC Fight Night 90 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The fight booking was announced by the UFC and tickets are set to go on sale to the public on May 6 according to a press release issued by the promotion on Friday.
Dos Anjos (25-7) will be making his second lightweight title defense as he is coming off a TKO win against Donald Cerrone at UFC on FOX 17. He was scheduled to defend the title last month, but a foot injury forced him to pull out of his title defense against Conor McGregor. Alvarez (27-4) has won back to back fights after dropping his UFC debut against Cerrone in 2014. His most recent win came in January as he defeated former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis by split decision at UFC Fight Night 81.
More details on UFC Fight Night 90: Dos Anjos vs. Alvarez will be released in the coming weeks by the UFC.
