Former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum will return to the octagon on September 10 in Cleveland as he will meet Ben Rothwell at UFC 203.
The fight booking was announced on Sunday night during the UFC Fight Night 88 main card broadcast on FS1.
UFC 203 will come from the Quicken Loans Arena and will be headlined by a title fight as Stipe Miocic defends the UFC heavyweight title against Alistair Overeem.
Werdum (20-6-1) lost the UFC heavyweight title earlier this month at UFC 198 as Miocic defeated him by knockout in the first round. The defeat snapped a six fight winning streak and it was his first lost since 2011, which was against Overeem in Strikeforce. Rothwell (36-10) will also enter this fight following a defeat as he lost to Junior dos Santos in April. The defeat snapped a four fight winning streak as his previous defeat came in 2013 against Gabriel Gonzaga.
