A featherweight bout that was initially reported by MMA Fighting on Friday is now official for UFC 202 on August 20 in Las Vegas as Ultimate Fighter 22 alum Artem Lobov will meet Chris Avila on the preliminary card.
The fight booking was made official by the UFC on Saturday.
UFC 202 will come from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on August 20 and will be headlined by a rematch in the welterweight division as Nate Diaz meets current UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor.
Lobov (11-12-1, 1NC) has lost both of his official fights in the UFC by decision with the defeats coming against Ryan Hall and Alex White. Prior to entering the UFC, he was unbeaten in his previous three fights and six of his eleven professional victories have come by stoppage. Avila (5-2) is currently on a three fight winning streak and is coming off a TKO win in March against Drake Boen. During his winning streak, all three of the wins have come by stoppage and two of them came by TKO/KO.
