It’s nice to see Matt Mitrione with his son. And as far as, Matt Mitrione being the face of Bellator’s heavyweight division, well, with the clown show that is becoming Bellator matchmakers pattern, he could very well be. Matt Mitrione could make it all the way to a Bellator heavyweight title shot without having to fight Bobby Lashley (14-2), or Tony Johnson (10-2), or Raphael Butler (9-2-1), or Sergei Kharitonov (23-5), or Vinicius Queiroz (8-4), or Cheick Kongo (24-10-2), or Augusto Sakai (9-0-1). Bellator matchmakers would probably not even match Matt Mitrione up against Justin Wren (11-2). I would say with the clown show Bellator matchmakers pattern, Matt Mitrione would probably face Bobby Brents (17-5), then Dan Charles (10-3-1) and then put him in the Bellator Heavyweight Title match. I just don’t give the Bellator matchmakers very much credit, especially with the influence of the Viacom executives pressuring for ratings and being as cheap as possible with money. And if Matt Mitrione makes it to the Bellator Heavyweight Title match with that path, that would be a total shame in the general perception of how shallow the Bellator Heavyweight division is. When in actuality, the Bellator Heavyweight division is pretty deep and has some nice talented fighters.
