Max Griffin signs with UFC, slated to meet Colby Covington at UFC 202

Welterweight Max Griffin has signed with the UFC and he will make his promotional debut on August 20 at UFC 202 against Colby Covington.

The fight booking was added today to the official fight card lineup on the UFC website.

UFC 202 will come from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on August 20 and will be headlined by a rematch in the welterweight division as Nate Diaz meets current UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor.

Griffin (10-2) has won back to back fights and is coming off a knockout victory against David Mitchell at WFC 16 in January. Eight of his twelve wins have come by stoppage and six of those wins have come by TKO/KO. Covington (9-1) has won four of his five fights in the UFC and is coming off a submission win against Jonathan Meunier. All of his stoppage victories have come by submission and three of his four wins in the UFC are by submission.
