Francisco Rivera has been notified by USADA of a potential Anti-Doping violation due to an out-competition drug test he recently submitted.
The potential Anti-Doping violation was announced by the UFC in a statement on Wednesday evening
“The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Francisco Rivera of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collection on July 23, 2016,” the UFC statement said. “USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case. It is important to note that, under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full fair legal review process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed. Additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward.”
Rivera (11-7, 1NC) has dropped three fights in a row and his most recent defeat came last month at UFC 201 against Erik Perez. He is 1-5 in his last six fights and his last victory came in 2015 against Alex Caceres at UFC Fight Night 68.
