After a brief retirement last year following his win against Nate Landwehr, Mark Cherico will return to competition on Friday night at Pinnacle FC 14 as he will meet D’Juan Owens on the fight card coming from the Syria Shrine Center in Cheswick, Pennsylvania.
Cherico (9-1) had announced prior to his fight against Landwehr last year that he would be hanging up his gloves and was calling it a career. However, he announced earlier this year that he was coming out of retirement and this will be his first fight in eleven months.
So why did Cherico decide to come out of retirement? He explained to The MMA Report in the video interview below why his retirement did not last long and gave his thoughts on Owens.
