A second title fight has been added to November’s ONE Championship: Defending Honor and it will be a rematch as Marat Gafurov will defend the featherweight title against former champion Narantungalag Jadambaa.
The fight booking was announced by ONE Championship on Thursday morning.
ONE Championship: Defending Honor will come from the Sinagpore Indoor Stadium on November 11 and will be headlined by a lightweight title fight as Shinya Aoki defends the ONE Championship title against Eduard Folayang.
Gafurov (14-0) won the featherweight title last year at ONE Championship 34 as he defeated Jadambaa by submission in the fourth round. He is coming off a successful title defense against Kazunori Yokota in May at ONE Championship 43 and his last five victories have come by submission. Jadambaa (12-4) has won back to back fights since dropping the ONE Championship title against Gafurov and is coming off a 44-second knockout victory in July against Eric Kelly. Seven of his twelve victories have come by stoppage and five of those wins are by submission.
“2016 has been an amazing year for ONE Championship. After meeting with the biggest names in the industry at the Asia MMA Summit, we are proud to announce a spectacular fight card set for the Singapore Indoor Stadium this November,” ONE Championship CEO Victor Cui said. “We are going in with two world title fights that will set the ONE Championship cage ablaze with world-class MMA action and excitement, along with a series of really solid supporting bouts.”
