The initial meeting between Cormier and Johnson came at UFC 187 last year when the vacant light heavyweight title was on the line. Cormier was able to weather an early surge by Johnson in the fight and ended up scoring a submission victory in the third round. Since their initial meeting, Cormier has successfully defended the title once and Johnson has won three straight fights by knockout.

More information on the UFC 206 fight card will be released by the UFC shortly.
