Former Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler will return to competition on Saturday night at Bellator 192 as he will face Goiti Yamauchi in a matchup that Bellator President Scott Coker has stated that the winner will secure a title fight against current Bellator lightweight champion Brent Primus.
The fight against Yamauchi will mark the first fight for Chandler (16-4) since losing the Bellator lightweight title against Primus at Bellator NYC last year. The defeat for Chandler, which was due to a doctor stoppage via injury snapped a four fight winning streak and was his first defeat since losing to Will Brooks at Bellator 131 in a title fight.
During this week’s podcast, Chandler was a guest on the show to preview his fight on Saturday night against Yamauchi. Along with previewing his fight, Chandler talked about how he’s moved on from the Primus saga and is looking for big fights.
