NFC welterweight champion Jared Gooden is coming off a title win against Sean Kilgus at NFC 105 last month for his third straight victory and two of those three wins have come by stoppage.
Prior to his victory over Kilgus, Gooden (10-2) scored a submission victory over Wesley Golden at NFC 96 in June of last year and three months after that victory, he scored a decision win against Elijah Wynter at NFC 99.
I had an opportunity to speak with Gooden recently about his recent victory and his MMA career. During our conversation, he told me how MMA saved his life from heading down the wrong path and why his Uncle changed his nickname to “Nite Train.”
