PFL 3 took place on Thursday night from the Charles E. Smith Center in Washington D.C. and this event featured matchups in the welterweight and middleweight tournaments.
In the main event of the fight card, Ray Cooper III (13-5) scored a TKO victory over Jake Shields in a welterweight bout and Cooper III was an eight to one betting underdog in the fight.
Cooper III was not the only betting underdog that scored a victory as Pavlo Kusch submitted Abubakar Nurmagomedov in the second round. Other highlights from the fight card include knockout victories by Joao Zeferino and Louis Taylor on the preliminary card.
