Paulo Thiago pulled out of his bout against Kelvin Gastelum at UFC Fight Night in Indianapolis with an injury and replacing him in the bout will be Brian Melancon.
The news was reported on last night’s edition of UFC Tonight on FUEL TV and the new bout will take place on the main card of the August 28th card on Fox Sports 1.
UFC Fight Night: Condit vs. Kampmann II will come from the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on August 28th and will be headlined by a welterweight bout as former interim UFC welterweight champion Carlos Condit faces Martin Kampmann.
Melancon (7-2) made his UFC debut earlier this month and defeated Seth Baczynski by knockout in the first round at UFC 162. It was his second straight win and four of his seven career victories have come by knockout.
Gastelum (6-0) won The Ultimate Fighter 17 as a middleweight and is dropping down to the welterweight division. Prior to entering the UFC, he had won all of his fights by stoppage with three of the wins coming by submission.
