Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza improved to 2-0 in the UFC has he stopped former title contender Yushin Okami in the first round by strikes.
In the first 90 seconds of the fight, Jacare landed a flurry of punches against the cage and came close to a stoppage victory. However, Okami weathered the storm and was able to break away from him. Jacare continued to attack with his punches and landed a right hand that dropped Okami once again.
He would finish the fight this time as he landed multiple punches on the ground and the referee came in to stop the fight.
Souza (19-3, 1NC) is now on a five fight winning streak since losing the Strikeforce middleweight title against Luke Rockhold and both of his UFC wins have come by stoppage in the first round.
