Andre Fili stepped in on ten days notice to meet Jeremy Larsen on the UFC 166 preliminary card and he scored a TKO victory in the second round.
As the opening bell sounded, Fili was the aggressor by throwing punches and kicks and had Larsen on his heels. Larsen would clinch with Fili against the fence but Fili would land multiple strikes, including knees that opened up a cut on the forehead of Larsen.
After a break in action, the referee had the cage side doctor look at the cuts on Larsen’s face and the doctor allowed the fight to continue.
Larsen would be about to take control by getting the fight to the ground with under 90 seconds left in the round. Fili would be able to get back to his feet and the fight would move into the second round.
In the opening minute of the second round, they began to brawl and Fili landed a right hand that rocked Larsen and he would finish the fight on the ground. Fili (13-1) has now won eight in a row and this is the seventh TKO/KO victory in his career.
