Raphael Assuncao vs. Francisco Rivera official for UFC 170

A bantamweight bout has been added to UFC 170 on February 22nd in Las Vegas as Raphael Assuncao meets Francisco Rivera.

UFC officials announced the fight booking on Wednesday afternoon.

UFC 170 takes place from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on February 22nd and will be headlined by a light heavyweight bout as Rashad Evans meets Daniel Cormier.

Assuncao (21-4) is currently on a five fight winning streak and is coming off a fight of the night victory against T.J. Dillashaw at UFC Fight Night 29. During his winning streak, three of the wins have come by decision with the two stoppage victories coming against Issei Tamura and Vaughan Lee.

Rivera (10-2, 1NC) has gone unbeaten in his last six fights as he has gone 5-0, 1NC in those bouts. He has won back to back fights by TKO and his most recent victory coming against George Roop at UFC Fight Night 31.
