UFC lightweight Mark Bocek has announced his retirement from mixed martial arts as the Canadian fighter made the announcement on Twitter last night.

Bocek (12-5) had thirteen of his seventeen professional fights take place in the UFC and he went 8-5 in the promotion. Four of his wins in the UFC came by submission and he won the submission of the night bonus twice. His most recent win came in April against Mike De La Torre at The Ultimate Fighter Nations Finale and he had won three of his last four.
