It was announced recently that Erik Koch would be meeting Ricardo Lamas in a featherweight bout at UFC 155, but the bout has been moved to the UFC on FOX 6 card on January 26th.
UFC officials announced the change on Wednesday night and the winner of the fight could face the winner of the UFC 156 title fight between featherweight champion Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar.
Koch (13-1) is currently on a four fight winning streak and was scheduled to face UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo at UFC 153. However, he suffered an injury and it appears that Frankie Edgar will be the next title contender for Aldo.
Lamas (12-2) has won his last three fights and is coming off a decision win at UFC on FX 4 against Hatsu Hioki. If Hioki would have won the fight, he would have secured a title shot. Since coming to the featherweight division, two of his three victories are by stoppage, which includes a submission of the night win over Cub Swanson.
UFC on FOX 6 takes place on January 26th from the United Center in Chicago and will be headlined by a flyweight title fight as Demetrious Johnson defends the title for the first time against John Dodson.
