A lightweight bout is slated to take place at Bellator 139 on June 26 as former tournament winner David Rickels will meet John Alessio.
The fight booking was reported by MMA Fighting on Tuesday and both fighters have confirmed the matchup on social media.
Bellator 139 will come from the Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kansas on June 26 and the main event is expected to be announced shortly by the promotion.
Rickels (16-3) has won two of his last three fights since losing to Michael Chandler in a title fight in 2013. He is coming off a decision win against Davi Ramos at Bellator 130 and this will be his third straight fight that will take place at the Kansas Star Arena.
Alessio (35-17, 1NC) signed with Bellator in 2013 and lost his debut to current Bellator lightweight champion Will Brooks by unanimous decision. He will enter this fight following a victory as he defeated Eric Wisely by decision at Bellator 119 last year.
