The main event of UFC Fight Night 79 on November 21 in Mexico has been made official by the UFC as Matt Brown will meet Ultimate Fighter winner Kelvin Gastelum in a welterweight bout.
Along with announcing the main event, the promotion also announced that Efrain Escudero will meet Leandro Silva in a lightweight bout.
UFC Fight Night 79 will serve as The Ultimate Fighter Latin America II Final and will come from the Monterrey Arena in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
Brown (20-13) is coming off a submission win at UFC 189 against Tim Means and the victory snapped a two fight losing streak. He is 8-2 in his last ten fights and he is currently the #5 contender in the UFC welterweight rankings. Gastelum (11-1) will also enter this fight following a victory as he defeated Nate Marquardt by TKO at UFC 188 in June. That fight took place in the middleweight division and this is his return to welterweight.
