A rumored heavyweight bout between Stefan Struve and Mark Hunt has been made official on Tuesday by the UFC and will take place in Japan at UFC on FUEL TV 8.
The fight card will be shown live in the United States on March 2nd and will take place from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan on March 3rd.
This bout was originally scheduled to take place at UFC 146 earlier this year, but Hunt had to pull out of the fight with an injury.
Struve (25-5) is currently on a four fight winning streak, which includes him winning a fight night bonus in three of those fights. During his recent winning streak, he holds wins over Stipe Miocic, Lavar Johnson, Dave Herman and Pat Barry. He has stopped his opponent in all four of those fights and has not made it out of the second round.
During his UFC career, he has gone 9-3 with the losses coming against Junior dos Santos, Roy Nelson and Travis Browne. He was defeated by knockout in all three of his fights and has only gone to a decision once in his UFC career.
Hunt (8-7) has recovered from his injury and will look for his first four fight win streak since 2006. After starting his career 5-1, he lost 6 straight before winning three straight in the UFC.
During his three fight winning streak, two of his three wins have come by knockout and his last victory took place at UFC 144 against Cheick Kongo.
UFC on FUEL TV 8 takes place on March 3rd in Japan, which the event will air live in the United States on FUEL TV on March 2nd and the UFC will be announcing more fights in the coming weeks.
