A bantamweight bout between Urijah Faber and Ivan Menjivar has been reported by various websites over the previous days and the UFC has confirmed the fight will take place at UFC 157 on February 23rd in Anaheim.
UFC officials confirmed the fight on Tuesday night and the fight is scheduled to take place on the pay-per-view portion of the fight card.
Faber (26-6) recently returned to full training after his ribs finally recovered from an injury he suffered in his UFC 149 fight against Renan Barao.
The lost to Barao was a UFC interim bantamweight title fight and the former WEC featherweight champion has gone 0-5 in his last five title fights, which two of those title fights have come in the UFC.
Menjivar (25-9) is also a former WEC fighter and has won four of his five fights in the UFC. Three of his UFC wins are by stoppage, which includes his most recent win at UFC 154 against Azamat Gashimov. His only defeat in the UFC came at UFC 148 against Mike Easton, which he lost by decision and snapped a three fight winning streak.
UFC 157 takes place on February 23rd from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California and the UFC has not announced what the main event will be at this time.
