Chris Camozzi was scheduled to take on Buddy Roberts next week at UFC 150, but the former Ultimate Fighter had to pull out of the fight with an injury.
He will now return to the octagon at UFC 153 on October 13th against Luiz Cane.
The fight was announced by the UFC and the fight will likely take place on the preliminary card.
Camozzi (17-5) was a contestant on season eleven of “The Ultimate Fighter” and is currently in his second stint with the UFC.
He returned to the UFC last year and was defeated at UFC 137 by Francis Carmont. Since that fight, he has won two in a row with the most recent victory coming at UFC on FX 4 against Nick Catone. The fight was stopped in the third round by the doctor after a knee opened up a cut on Catone’s head.
Cane (12-4, 1NC) is a eight fight veteran of the UFC and has gone 4-4 inside the octagon. He has lost three of his last four fights and he was defeated by TKO in all three loses. His lone win in his last four fights came at UFC 128 against Eliot Marshall, which was a TKO victory in the first round.
UFC 153 takes place on October 13th in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the fight card is expected to take place from the HSBC Arena, but that has not been officially announced by the UFC.
