Mike Bronzoulis is out of his scheduled lightweight bout at Bellator 149 against Melvin Guillard and the promotion is expected to announce a new opponent for Guillard shortly.
The withdrawal of Bronzoulis was confirmed to The MMA Report by sources close to the promotion.
Bellator 149 will come from the Toyota Center on February 19 and will be headlined by a trilogy bout as Ken Shamrock meets Royce Gracie.
A potential opponent to replace Bronzoulis against Guillard could be Patricky “Pitbull” Freire. Following his win over Ryan Couture this past Friday night at Bellator 148, Pitbull stated in a video released on social media that he would like to face Guillard next and texted on Saturday that he was staying in the United States until he got an answer about fighting Guillard.
Still in the country awaiting for an answer from @Young__Assassin @BellatorMMA Let’s stand up and bang! I won’t take u down! 🙏🏻 Let’s go! 👊🏻

Following our report of Bronzoulis being out of the event, Guillard responded on Facebook and gave his thoughts on Patricky’s recent comments.
