Tonight’s CES MMA 33 card in Lincoln, Rhode Island will feature a lightweight bout as Nate Andrews steps into the cage for the first time in eight months as he will meet former CES MMA lightweight champion Julian Lane.
Andrews (7-1) is coming off a TKO win at CES MMA 29 against Jay Bakanowski and seven of his eight professional fights have come in CES MMA. Over the past couple of years, he has not been able to get the amount of fights he would like due to various reasons and during his appearance on yesterday’s edition of “The MMA Report Podcast,” he talked about wanting to send a statement to the mixed martial arts community tonight at CES MMA 33.
“I think people are really going to know who I am after this fight,” Andrews said. “Right now, people are like, ‘this kid is tough and he has a good record. He is finishing fights.’ But I think after this fight, they are going to be like alright. My name is going to ring some bells. I am going to be a little more known then what I am now.”
“If I take this fight with this kid, it’s going to be a tough, tough fight,” Andrews continued about what he wants people to know about him. “I want guys to think twice before they take the fight.”
