American Top Team amateur bantamweight Dustin Lampros will be returning to the cage next weekend at Shamrock FC: No Mercy as he will meet Drew Walker on the fight card coming from the Lumiere Casino in St. Louis, Missouri.
Lampros was scheduled to return to competition last month, but the fight ended up being scratched. On Tuesday’s edition of “The MMA Report Podcast,” Lampros talked about his upcoming fight and explained that he is hoping his opponent shows up on fight night.
“I do not know much about him at all,” Lampros stated. “This is supposed to be a good fight for me. My last four fights with Shamrock, three out of the four had last minute replacements within an hour of the fight. I am just hoping this guy shows up and sticks it out till fight night. Challenges that he brings, I don’t really know. As far as concerns, I am just worried about myself and I know that the amateur record does not matter.”
“I accept whoever they put in front of me but this fight, my coaches wanted me to get a good fight in and want me to showcase my talent,” he continued. “I don’t know what he is exactly going to bring to the table. He is an independent fighter so I am sure he is going to be pretty tough and pretty scrappy. I am ready for it. I am going to stand there and out class him. Show him what a real mixed martial artist is.”
