The main event of the UFC Fight Night card taking place on September 3 in Hamburg, Germany will be a heavyweight bout between former UFC heavyweight champions as Josh Barnett looks to get back on the winning side of the fight when he faces Andrei Arlovski.
Barnett (34-8) has alternated wins and losses since coming back to the UFC in 2013 and he will enter this fight following a submission defeat against Ben Rothwell in January at UFC on FOX 18. Between Barnett and Arlovski, they have 80 pro fights and he talked about the upcoming fight on last night’s episode of “Inside MMA” on AXS TV with Ron Kruck and Bas Rutten.
“If not now then possible not ever,” Barnett said on Inside MMA about his fight in September against Arlovski. “I am glad this fight is happening. This is a fight I am incredibly psyched to be a part of. 80 plus pro fights. That is a headline event. That is what a headline event is. We are two vets and yes we have been in there a long time. We have had our fair share of injuries and ups and downs. But the reality is we also know how to go out there and fight. We know how to go out there and win belts. We know how to give championship performances and that is what we are going to do for those guys in Hamburg, Germany. We have to give a championship quality main event.”
