Derek Brunson recently pulled out of his fight against Gegard Mousasi at UFC 200 due to undisclosed reasons and stepping up to face Mousasi on the July 9 fight card in Las Vegas will be Thiago “Marreta” Santos.
The fight change was announced by the UFC on Monday.
UFC 200 will come from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 9 and the event will be headlined by a title unification bout as light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier meets interim light heavyweight champion Jon Jones in a rematch of their initial meeting at UFC 182.
Santos (13-3) is currently on a four fight winning streak and three of those wins have come by TKO/KO. His most recent win came last month at UFC 198 as he defeated Nate Marquardt by knockout in the opening round. Mousasi (38-6-2) has won three of his last four fights and two of those three wins have come by decision. His most recent win came in February as he defeated Thales Leites by decision at UFC Fight Night 84.
