Tyler Hunley talks about challenges heading into Valor Fights 36 and how he needs to be more aggressive

Bantamweight Tyler Hunley will return to competition on Saturday night at Valor Fights 36 and this will be his first fight since suffering his first career defeat in April when he meets Kyle Causey on the fight card coming from the Gatlinburg Convention Center in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Hunley (4-1) was defeated by Kodey Gulley at Valor Fights 32 by stoppage in the opening round and it was his first defeat since losing to Gulley in his final amateur fight in 2013. After what happened in his last fight, Hunley explained to The MMA Report that he needs to be more aggressive going forward.

“The challenge is we want to put more pressure than we have on any other person before,” Hunley said. “In most of my other fights, I am just kind of — probably not a counter puncher but kind of not too aggressive. I am just kind of not relaxed, but I can’t think of the word. I am ready to go but I am not usually not going head out and running into him. I am just zoning I guess. Sometimes I need to be more aggressive, but I am kind of like well if I get too aggressive and then this happens. As you see in my last fight, I was pretty much not being aggressive and then that happened. I need to be more aggressive now so that won’t happen.”
