The main event of Valor Fights 38 on November 5 in Nashville, Tennessee will be a catchweight bout of 150 pounds as Zack Hicks will meet Nick Gehrts.
The fight booking was announced by Valor Fights on Wednesday afternoon.
Hicks (3-1) made his professional debut in 2014 and is coming off a submission victory against Rahshun Ball at Valor Fights 34 in June. Two of his three wins have come by submission and both of those submission victories have come in the opening round.
“It’s just business as usual, really, but I believe this is the biggest fight of my career,” Hicks said. “It’s cliche, sure, but this is the best I’ve ever been and I’m excited to show off all of my improvements and everything I’ve been working so hard on. A win on Fight Night puts me right up there among the top 145-pounders in the Southeast.”
Gehrts (6-2) has won back to back fights and is 4-1 in his last five fights. His most recent win came in April as he defeated Steven New by submission at Valor Fights 32.
“He’s going to go to sleep. I’m going to catch him in a choke or grab an arm or a leg and he’s going to be tapping out in a hurry,” Gehrts said. “I’m getting closer and closer to fighting on the international level. I just need a few more highlight-reel victories. I’ve got one coming up November 5 in Nashville.”
Valor Fights 38 will come from the Nashville Fairgrounds Arena and the event will be streamed live on Flo Combat.
